CBGS students win Blue Crab Bowl

Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School students of Rappahannock Community College’s Glenns campus came in first place at the 25th Annual Blue Crab Bowl, held virtually Feb. 11 and 12. The competition was hosted by Old Dominion University and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science.

Blue Crab Bowl, a two-day academic tournament, is Virginia’s regional competition for the National Ocean Science Bowl. The contest drew 13 teams of top science students from 11 schools across the commonwealth. The 65 students spent two days in heated tournament competition, focused on the marine sciences.

This challenging event included both preliminary and elimination contests with top placing teams facing over 140 questions, assessing their marine science knowledge.
