Cattail’s holds grand reopening at (old) new location

Cattail’s, a home décor and gift shop in Mathews, held a grand reopening Friday and Saturday to celebrate its move to Church Street in a space the business occupied a decade ago.

The business had its beginnings in The Cottage on Main Street in 2005, then moved to the Church Street location two years later. By 2010, Cattail’s had moved to Buckley Hall Road near the former Best Value Supermarket, and it moved last year to Main Street. With every move, loyal customers followed.

Owner Lynn Kucker said she doesn’t anticipate any more moves. “This is our resting spot,” she said.

The brightly lighted shop is filled with a wide variety of items, from Lulu Bee and Ethyl clothing to Haversham burnless candles and Gourmet Village dip mixes.
