A funeral for Cathryn Hudgins Chitty of Norfolk, was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home. She died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013.

She was born to the late Lucy Godsey and William Stillman Hudgins on Feb. 25, 1919. She joined the Army Nurse Corps and served in the South Pacific during WWII. Mrs. Chitty was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Norfolk.

Survivors include four children, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Chitty.

Burial was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Gwynn’s Island Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Girl Scouts of America or to Knox Presbyterian Church.
