Catherine (Cathy) Ann Wallace was born in San Francisco, California, to Thomas and Marion Harris and passed away on Oct. 1, 2025. As the wife of a 30-year Coast Guardsman, Cathy resided in all sorts of locations across the United States, finally settling down in Gloucester in 1996. Everywhere Cathy went she was known for her kindness and friendly demeanor. It can be said with confidence that she truly never met a stranger and loved everyone. She was profoundly proud of her family and spoke of them as the greatest blessing of her life. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved her “babies” and will forever be missed.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Joanie McCloskey, and her stepdaughter, Amy Wallin.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Timothy Wallace; her brothers, John Harris and Greg Harris; their daughters, Fawn Carter of Mathews, and Amber Sewell of Gloucester; grandchildren, Olivia Wallace, Timothy Raphael, Jackson Wallin, Liberti Carter, Tai Sewell, Jameson Wallin, Elison Wallin, Greylyn Sewell and great-grandchildren, Greer White, Everett White, Timothy Raphael II, Teiano Raphael and Birdie Thomlinson-Wallace.
The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to Pastor John Pouchot, the deacons and our entire Petsworth family for their prayers and support. And a special thank-you to the Riverside Walter Reed Cancer Center and the Riverside Middle Peninsula Hospice Team for their amazing care of Cathy during her journey home; their expertise and compassion go unrivaled.
