Cases remain ‘relatively stable’

While COVID-19 case rates across the nation are “relatively stable,” 17 states are currently reporting increasing case rates, according to the weekly COVID update from Dr. Richard Williams, Medical Director of the Three Rivers Health District.

In Virginia, the case rate is fluctuating, he said, with a new case rate of 169 per day over a seven-day average, up from 120 per day reported last week.

The new case rate in the Three Rivers District has increased slightly, as well, with two to three cases per day reported throughout the 10-county district, up from the one to two cases per day reported last week.

Gloucester had six new cases during the past week, for a total of 2,278 cases since the pandemic began, while Mathews had two new cases, for a total of 604, and Middlesex remained the same, at 575.
