Cary “Edgar” Jenkins of Hayes, went to his heavenly home on Friday, April 12, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 59 years old. Edgar was born on February 11, 1965 to the late James “Buster” and Hazel Jenkins of Hayes. He was best known for his gift of brick masonry. His life’s work was sharing that gift with others to be enjoyed for many years to come. Edgar lived a quiet life but left us all better than he found us. He was preceded in death by his son, Jesse Jenkins. He is survived by his sister, Theresa Jenkins Kounse, and his brother, James Edgar Jenkins III (Crystal); as well as a host of nieces and nephews; most notably, his faithful four-legged companion. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Gloucester Point Cemetery, 1860 Hayes Road, Gloucester Point, Va. 23062.
