CARRIE STAMPER WILSON

Carrie Stamper Wilson of Gloucester, 82, passed away Nov. 15, 2017. Carrie was born in Tazewell County, VA on June 20, 1935 to the late Fulton and Nora Stamper, one of 10 children.

She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth H. Wilson Sr. and beloved mother of the late Kenneth H. Wilson Jr. Carrie is survived by her daughters, Sharon Bartley (Thomas) and Tammy Prosek (Jerry); son, James M. Wilson (Cheryl); grandchildren, Carrie E. Wilson-Bellinger (Michael), Courtney Wilson-Callis (James), Catelyn Penick (Gordon), Cassie Wilson, Maggie Bartley, Lauren Hall (Jason), Brian Jones Jr. (Ericka), Cyndi Thompson (Murray) and Gary Cookson (Karen); and great-grandchildren, Ellyana, Charlee, Colter, Livvy, Kaylee, Dylan, Mckenzie, Colby, Callie, Hadley, Keira, Chessie and Cade, and daughter-in-law, Ellen Williams. She was also preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Susan Wilson; four sisters and five brothers. 

Carrie was a member of Gloucester Church of Christ. She was retired from the former Sutton Restaurant as a waitress for 17 years. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sharing with her family. Carrie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and her memory will live in our hearts for as long as we live.

Funeral service conducted by Minister Robbie Brunjes was at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at Gloucester Church of Christ, 2432 Hayes Road, Hayes, Virginia. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
