CARRIE ENROUGHTY BELVIN

With profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Carrie Enroughty Belvin, on January 18, 2026 at the age of 98. Born in 1927 to the late Frank and Calliedonia Enroughty, she was raised in Varina, Virginia, alongside her brothers and sister. In 1948, she married the love of her life, Oscar Belvin Jr. and together they had three children: Oscar, Bryan, and Susan. These were her pride and joy until the arrival of grandchildren, who filled her life with even greater blessings. She never missed an opportunity to express her love for them. Her love language was spending quality time together, so when we were with her, we played games, had sock fights, hosted tea parties, and sang karaoke. Carrie had a deep appreciation for flowers, birds, cookbooks, and newspapers. She was an avid gardener, even up to the last couple of years. She enjoyed her sugar with a hint of coffee and was an avid fan of Duke basketball and most other sports. She loved going barefoot and always answered phone calls with a warm “Hi, Darlin.” While her absence will leave a profound void in our lives, we find solace in knowing that Heaven is celebrating her arrival. Carrie was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Belvin Jr.; her brothers, Earl and Wellington (Duke) Enroughty; her sister, Phyllis Snelson, and her son-in-law, Larry Thomas. Carrie is survived by her sons, Oscar Belvin and Bryan (Tonya) Belvin, and her daughter, Susan Thomas; grandchildren, Paige (Jay) Bond, Barrett (Jennifer) Belvin, Christian (Aaron) Wikle, Jordan (Katie) Belvin, Reagan Belvin, and Anson Belvin. Her great-grandchildren include Garrett Bond, Abigail and Lawson Wikle, Archie and Murphie Belvin. We, as a family, would like to thank Sally Gayle Revere, Helen Ward, and Bonnie Rosser for their unwavering support. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Lower United Methodist Church, 120 Lower Church Road, Hartfield, Va. 23071, with coffee from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Funeral service conducted by the Rev.
