Carolyn “Mac” McPherson Gregory, 72, of Suffolk, lost her battle with cancer on September 5, 2016.

Born in Newport News, Virginia, on February 8, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Hudgins McPherson. She graduated from Newport News High School, Pan American Business School and Tidewater Community College. She was retired and finished her career as a Human Resource Manager.

She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Doug; her son, Matthew (Mary); daughter, Mollie (Gene), and son, Robert (Christine); a total of eight grandchildren, and many “favorite cousins” and friends. 

A true “southern belle,” like her mother, she loved life, her family, and especially Mathews, Va. She loved cooking, entertaining, listening to beach music, playing cards, gardening, and boating.

A memorial service will be held on October 8 at 1 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Newport News, Va.
