CAROLYN MARKS SMITH

Carolyn Marks Smith, 67, of Mathews, Va., passed away Sept. 20, 2014 after a short illness.

She was born March 25, 1947 to Denville and Anna Marks.

Carolyn worked as an LPN for Riverside Dialysis for many years. She was an avid Longaberger collector, and a devoted and loving grandmother to her grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Bob Smith; her daughter, Anna Evans Inge (Tim) of Staunton; her sons, Chris Evans (Gin) and Wayne Evans (Angela) of Mathews; her grandchildren, Jared and Aaron Inge, Caroline and Ethan Evans, all of Mathews; her sisters, Jean Pugh of Mathews, Charlotte Belvin of Gloucester, and brothers, J.D. Marks of Arcadia, Fla., and Jack Bryant of Kilmarnock, Va.

A memorial service officiated by the Rev. Ralph Satter was held on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 at 4 p.m. at St. Matthew Church in Peary.

The family received friends and family prior to the service from 3 to 4 o’clock at the church. 

In memory of Carolyn, contributions may be given to the Mathews Rescue Squad.
