CAROLYN CREWE GRAY

On July 22, 2016, Carolyn Crewe Gray of Emmerton, passed from time into eternity.

She was predeceased by her husband, W. D. “Berry” Gray, her parents, Broadus H. and Geneva R. Crewe, and her brother Donald Crewe.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Pamela C. Ash (Andrew W. Gallagher Jr.), James B. Ash (Nancy W. Foster) and Geneva A. Hahn (Kimball).  She is also survived by her granddaughter, Elizabeth H. Gallagher (David P. Winyall), and her brother, B. Wendell Crewe. Additionally, she is survived by two stepchildren, six step-grandchildren, and her dedicated and compassionate caregiver, Elsie M. Greene.

Carolyn was a graduate of Averett College and retired in 1985 after 16 years working with the Department of Social Services. Carolyn was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Emmerton and was active in their music programs. While she was active in the community, her heart was with her involvements as a board member of Bay Aging and as a commission member on the Piankatank River Family Retreat Center Commission.

Funeral services were held on July 25, 2016, at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Emmerton.
