Carolyn Coates Turlington, 67, of Hayes, passed away Oct. 26, 2017 at her home.

Born Aug. 14, 1950, she was predeceased by her parents, Bennie Coates Sr. and Hilda Mae Coates.

She was associated with Farm Fresh Supermarket for many years, and a member of Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church. Carolyn was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. She was a very kind and gentle person; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to her family. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Ann Williams.

Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Turlington; children, Kenneth Turlington Jr., Tracie Slavnik (John) and Susan Turlington (Michelle); grandson, John Slavnik II; granddaughter, Morgan Slavnik; brother, Bennie Coates Jr., and nieces and nephews.

Funeral service conducted by the Rev. Hyung Moon was at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at Susanna Wesley U.M. Church. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, from 4-6 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
