Carolyn Ann Shelton, 74, of Gloucester, passed away on Jan. 9, 2018.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Earl and Burlie Elizabeth Crowder; brother, Raymond Earl Crowder Jr.; sisters, Stella Cade, Nina Pierce, and Nila Crowder, and is survived by her husband of 56 years James C. “Gus” Shelton; son, A. Keith Shelton (Lisa); granddaughters, Jennifer Rowe (Ashley) and Jessica Shelton; great-grandsons, Riley Shelton Rowe and Tanner Dean Rowe; sisters, Ruth Adams and Pat Minarik, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was the owner of Courthouse Antiques for 36 years where she turned her passion for antiques into a lifelong career. She loved to fish and could be found along the river on any afternoon. She had a deep love for her family and was extremely proud of her grandchildren. She thought there was nothing as sweet as her great-grandsons. Most of all she was a devoted wife and lifelong partner to Gus who was everything to her.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, from 6:30-8 p.m. Funeral services will be on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be at Shackelford Chapel Cemetery.
