Caroling on Put-In Creek this Saturday

Caroling on Put-in Creek will take place this Saturday, starting from the Put-in Creek Kayak Launch next to Fire Station #1 in Mathews Court House area. Launch time is set for 6 p.m., said organizer Jan Towne.

The event is B.Y.O.B. (bring your own boat). Those wanting to take part are also asked to bring a PFD and a light such as a flashlight. Kayakers will paddle up Put-in Creek, stopping at docks along the way to carol. Decorated boats are encouraged, Towne said.

If skies are clear, the paddlers will be traversing the creek under a full moon.

Towne advised all participants to dress for cold water conditions. She said song sheets will be provided, as well as after-paddle refreshments at the Put-in Creek Pavilion.

The former kayak business in Onemo, Bay Trails Outfitters, sponsored Caroling on the Creek from December 1999 and continued every December until the business closed in 2010.
