Carol Cecelia Knapp, age 78, of Gloucester, died peacefully March 19, 2017.

Carol was born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, where she met and married her husband, James Knapp. 

The family moved to Virginia after their second child was born. Along with raising three kids, Carol worked several different jobs. Her last position was with the Prince William County School System. She stayed active after her retirement running her own antique shop and working part- time at a commercial nursery before her illness. 

Carol loved to travel and collect antiques. She also had a passion for painting and often used her skill to make gifts for friends. Carol and Jim moved to Mobjack late in life and enjoyed the quiet bay community there. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and sister who will be dearly missed, but will remain in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her children, son, Matthew James Knapp; two daughters, Jacqueline Teter and Marie L. Knapp, and two grandchildren, Jessica Teter and James Knapp.
