CARLY ALICE ABRAMS

Carly Alice Abrams, 29, of Mathews, passed away on March 4, 2017.

She was born in Arlington and spent a lively and energetic childhood in Falls Church. Her teenaged and adult years were spent in a special corner of the earth that Carly loved calling home, Mathews.

Carly’s trademark feature, her ready smile, combined with her outgoing personality and warm heart meant she never met a person—or a dog—she couldn’t call a friend. Carly had a passionate nature and cared deeply for others. Her conviction to serve others led her to pursue an education in nursing so she could give back to the community she loved.

She had a brief, but painful, struggle with liver and kidney failure complications, compounded by celiac disease. In her final days, she took comfort being surrounded by her family whom she loved so much.

She is survived by her mother, Lynn; her father, Ron; her brothers, Ben and Andy; sisters-in-law, Stephanie and Sade; a future niece or nephew; close personal friends, Lee Simmons and David Roberts, and her loving and loyal Abbey.

A small memorial service for family and close friends is planned for Saturday, March 18 in Gloucester.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a cause close to Carly’s heart: the Mathews Fire and Rescue Squads.
