Carlos Enrique Gonzalez, 75, of Gloucester (formerly Centreville, Va.), passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 2, 2020 in the comfort of his home. He was born in Guatemala, and after moving to the United States, he worked for Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., for 35 years. He also worked for Arlington County Public Schools for 10 years. Upon retirement they relocated to Gloucester to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Carlos is survived by his wife, Maria Esther, and their children, Steven Gonzalez and Caroline Bermudez. Grandchildren are Allison and Ella Gonzalez; Benjamin, Jonathan, and Landon Bermudez. Carlos is also survived by numerous family members in the Northern Virginia/D.C. area. The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home, Hayes, and a funeral service will be conducted by Father Gregory Kandt at The Church of St. Therese, Gloucester. Carlos will be laid to rest at Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, services will be private. Services under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home.
