Capin named triathlete, duathlete All-American

Jacob Capin, a 2007 graduate of Gloucester High School, was recently named an All-American Triathlete and an All-American Duathlete for 2018 by USA Triathlon.

Capin’s 2019 season began April 13 and 14 in Greenville, South Carolina, at the USAT Duathlon (run-bike-run) National Championship. He placed second in the nation in the Spirit Duathlon the day after racing the Draft Legal Duathlon.

Three weeks later, Capin returned to competition in the Virginia Ironman 70.3 triathlon in Williamsburg. Over 2,000 entrants from 44 states and eight countries competed in the event, consisting of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run. 

The race was won by Philippe Tremblay of Canada in just under four hours and 12 minutes. Capin came in third in his age group, fourth American and sixth overall in 4:19.47.
