A number of additional candidate forums have been announced for the weeks ahead, as follows:
Wednesday, Oct. 11:  Mathews branch of the NAACP invited all candidates on this year’s ballot to attend a forum from 7-9 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 9654 Buckley Hall Road, Mathews. Positions on the ballot in Mathews include governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, House of Delegates, supervisors and school board.
Thursday, Oct. 12: Gwynn’s Island Civic League will host a forum for supervisor and school board candidates from 7-9 p.m. at the Gwynn’s Island Civic Center.
Tuesday, Oct. 17: The Piankatank Ruritan Club, Hudgins, will host a forum for supervisor and school board candidates at 7 p.m. at the club building on Buckley Hall Road in Hudgins.
Wednesday, Oct. 18: West Mathews Community League has invited all candidates to speak at the league building, the old Peninsula Schoolhouse, in Bohannon. This session begins at 7 p.m.
