Campaign forums wind down in Mathews

 Mathews candidates discussed their primary areas of focus and shared their opinions about various county issues during three forums held over a two-day period last week. Three additional forums were held the week before.

The West Mathews Community League sponsored a forum last Wednesday at the old Peninsula School moderated by Ted Broderson, while the Mathews Resources Council held one Thursday morning at Mathews Memorial Library moderated by Rhoda-Jo Stress, and the Mathews Education Association sponsored one Thursday night at Thomas Hunter Middle School moderated by Jay Black.

All candidates were present at the MEA forum, but supervisor candidate Lynn Jaeger and school board candidates Stephanie Armistead and Bambi Thompson missed the MCL forum, and Jaeger, Armistead, Thompson, and school board candidates Beth Bond and Melissa Mason missed the MRC forum, although Bond and Thompson sent representatives in their stead.
