C. Daniel "Danny" Chittum, 72, of Gloucester, died July 1, 2011 at the Veterans Center in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Danny was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He owned Chittum Greenhouses in Gloucester for a number of years and also worked at the Williamsburg Winery.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Gilmore Weaver.

He is survived by brother, Charles Chittum and wife Barbara; grandson, Smith Alec Steigleder; nephew, Charles R. Chittum.

Graveside funeral services conducted by the Rev. Dr. Richard Croxton will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. Friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
