BZA to consider two requests Tuesday

The Gloucester County Board of Zoning Appeals will hold public hearings on two special exception requests during a meeting beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the colonial courthouse.

Applicant Alvin L. Jenkins seeks a special exception for establishment of a seafood house for wholesale sales and shipment of seafood at 2770 Guinea Circle, Hayes. The property lies in the York Magisterial District and is zoned Bayside Conservation (C-2).

Linda Sprague, an assistant in the Gloucester Department of Planning and Zoning, said that Jenkins had received a special exception for the project in 2005, but was not able to follow through on that application which lapsed in 2007. Helen E. Jenkins is listed as the property owner.

Jenkins is seeking a variance to ordinances requiring a setback of at least 100 feet from all property lines and requiring that employee parking lots and loading areas be to the rear or side of buildings.
