BZA to consider request for massage therapy business

The Gloucester County Board of Zoning Appeals will hold one public hearing for a requested special exception during a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the colonial courthouse.

Property owner Eric Booth has applied for a special exception to establish a clinical massage therapy business as a home occupation.

The property is located at 7798 Plantation Road in the Petsworth Magisterial District and is zoned Suburban Countryside (SC-1).

In his application, Booth said he will "service ailing clients with clinical massage therapy at home."

In a report filed with his application, Booth said he is a nationally certified massage therapist, licensed in Virginia and in Connecticut, and is a member in good standing with the American Massage Therapy Association.
