BZA approves office/storage facility at Hayes

The Gloucester County Board of Zoning Appeals approved a special exception to allow operation of a contractor’s office and storage facilities at Hayes during a meeting May 26.

Rick Bass, president and owner of Carmine Builders, said he has been operating the business from another Hayes location and plans to purchase several parcels of the former Deep Sea Ventures property at Hayes, which backs onto the Riverside Hayes Clinic on Route 17. The subject property on Hayes Road is zoned Business (B-1).

Bass said he plans to operate a contractor’s office on the site, as well as occupy two vacant buildings for storage of construction materials.

No one from the public spoke in opposition to the application during a hearing in the colonial courthouse, planner Tripp Little said May 27.
