BZA approval sought for catering, special events business

The Gloucester County Board of Zoning Appeals will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the colonial courthouse. One public hearing is scheduled.

Robert P. Aubrey Jr. for Main Events, LLC, doing business as Distinction for White Marsh Properties, LLC, property owner, has applied for a special exception to establish a recreation and amusement enterprise for a full-service catering and special events hall business.

Aubrey also seeks a variance of 380 feet to the zoning ordinance’s special exception criterion "C," which requires that all such activities shall be conducted at least 500 feet from any residential district.

The property is located in White Marsh Shopping Center at 4914 George Washington Memorial Highway. The property is zoned Business (B-1).

According to the application, the new business "can function for spectator and non-spectator events."
