Bayside Youth Ballet recently awarded college scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each to Savanna Klaus, Melody Thompson and Emma Pearson, shown from left. Savanna is the daughter of Bob and Louise Klaus of Gloucester; she will attend VCU and double major in neonatology and dance. Melody is the daughter of Eric and Leslie Thompson of Williamsburg; she will attend Thomas Nelson Community College and plans to work in the medical field. Emma is the daughter of Mark and Kaoru Pearson of Yorktown; she plans to attend Thomas Nelson Community College and study marine biology/ecology. Emma also has joined the faculty of Diggs School of Dance. Bayside Youth Ballet college scholarships are given in memory of Jerry and Jahn Ramsey, the parents of alumna Elizabeth Ramsey, and Heidi Jo South, also an alumna of the ballet company.
