A “By Appointment 5K” run will be held on Saturday, starting and ending at Williams Wharf Landing in Mathews.The event is being hosted by Virginia Tidewater Trailrunners, a club open to beginner and experienced runners on the Middle Peninsula.

Virginia restrictions in place to protect against the spread of coronavirus allow for certain activities as exceptions to the temporary stay-at-home order, with exercise approved and encouraged, according to the event sponsors.The start times for this race will be set on an individual basis. Each participant will be assigned a specific start time during daylight hours on Saturday, allowing for a time between participants.

“Your start time may be as early as 6:30 a.m. and as late as 6:30 p.m. All participants will run the same course; live results will be available throughout the day via webscorer.com so you can monitor your standings,” according to Virginia Tidewater Trailrunners.
