The Chesapeake Bay Buy Boat Association is holding its annual Buy Boat Rendezvous starting today and lasting until Sunday, Sept. 24. The Buy Boat Rendezvous is a celebration of these historic boats that used to fill the bay and were key to the life of watermen for years in the early to mid-1900s.

The event kicks off with a confirmed nine of these historic boats gathering at York River Yacht Haven in Gloucester Point. On Saturday, the boats will cruise to Riverwalk Marina in Yorktown. On Sept. 18, the boats will travel down to Whitehouse Cove Marina in Poquoson before heading up to Hudgins Horn Harbor Marina in Mathews County on Sept. 21 where they will stay until they disperse the following Sunday.

The boats will be available for tour by visitors while docked at the different locations. On Friday at York River Yacht Haven the boats can be toured from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. At Yorktown, the boats can be toured between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. In Poquoson, boats ...
