Busy holiday weekend in store

This weekend kicks off the start of holiday activities in Gloucester and Mathews. With a multitude of festivities scheduled, there promises to be plenty of fun for all ages.

 

The Citizen’s Christmas and Holiday Parade in Gloucester will step off at 2 p.m. Saturday from Main Street Center and travel to Botetourt Elementary School.

 

As always, Santa Claus will participate in this year’s parade and be available for visits with children after the parade ends.

 

There will also be a Holiday Arts and Crafts Show in the court green from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday for residents and visitors to enjoy.

 

In Mathews, the third annual Family Holiday Wreath Workshop, sponsored by the Mathews-Middlesex Master Gardeners and the Virginia Cooperative Extension office, will take place Saturday with one session at 10 a.m. and a second at 1 p.m., both at the Extension office.
