Busy days at Mobjack

The carpenters are busy adding improvements to Messrs. O.O. Rhea’s and O.A. White’s residences at Mobjack. Capt. V.H. Machen’s new house is almost completed and it is a pretty building and will add very much to the beauty of our pretty hamlet.

Capt. W.G. Miles took a gay party to Norfolk Monday to meet the incoming fleet on his sail vessel Estella, some of whom were Mrs. W.G. Miles and three children, Mr. E.M. Maxwell, wife and children and Mr. Sam Cuthbeth.

Hayes Store: Rev. R.A. Folkes preached at Providence Church Sunday. His many friends of the congregation were delighted to see him, and to hear another one of his fine sermons.
