Business emergency seminar Tuesday

This week, the Gazette-Journal, along with a host of other local businesses, honored the first responders who quickly and professionally render aid during an emergency.

Next week, the Gloucester Chamber of Commerce is taking on the task of preparing business owners on how to respond when disaster strikes. The chamber will host a breakfast discussion on Business Emergency Preparedness from 8:30-11 a.m. Tuesday at Main Street Center, Gloucester.

According to chamber executive director Gloria Williams, the idea to provide an avenue for local business owners to learn how to better prepare for crisis situation came from Jane Wenner, who works in Gloucester’s Emergency Services department. “She said she wanted there to be a way to collect and get this information out to the business community,” Williams said.

Williams brought the idea to the chamber’s board of directors and said they were “supportive from the get-go.”
