Burns wins Market Days poster contest

Min Ja Burns was unveiled as the winning artist for the 2014 Mathews Market Days poster contest, during a ceremony held Sunday afternoon at the Bay School Community Arts Center.

Burns painted a scene of Main Street to follow the theme “Small Town Charm” set by the Market Days organizing committee. Her artwork earned her the top $500 prize.

At the reception following the unveiling, Burns set about signing and numbering a limited edition of collectible art prints.

“It’s an honor to be chosen out of the many beautiful entries this year, and to be part of the 40th anniversary of Market Days makes it even more meaningful and special,” she said.

“To me,” Burns continued, “Mathews Main Street epitomizes small town charm.
