Bruce Galen Harris, 66, of Susan, Virginia passed away on Jan. 1, 2017 in a tragic car accident in Mathews, Virginia.

Bruce was born in Richmond, Virginia on Feb. 15, 1950. He worked as an iron worker for 45 years before retiring in 2015. After retirement, Bruce decided to return to work as a school bus driver for Gloucester County Schools. He enjoyed his “bus buddies” and the kids on his bus. Bruce loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. 

Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Kay Harris; his children, Beverly McDougle (Steve), Robert Harris (Sylvia), Cheryl Squares (Jim), and Michael Harris (Jessica); his brother, Kirk Harris (Judy); his grandchildren, Ashley, Trey, Jacob, Evan, Cheyenne, Joshua, Noah, Bryce, Bria, and Rowan; his great-grandson, Gavin. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert Harris and Helen Pierce, and his sister, Phyllis Marcial. 

Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 6, at 12 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Oak Hall Baptist Church, 1877 Old Hanover Road, Sandston, Virginia 23150.
