D’shawn Wright has added barber shop owner to his ever-growing resume.

The author, inspirational speaker, radio show host, stage actor and owner of the Body By D gym has gone into business with his brother to open The Wright Cuts Family Barber Shop and Salon in Gloucester Point.

Wright and his brother, Jeffrey Holland, will co-own the business.

The pair have a three-year lease for the location, which is owned by local restaurateur Juan Carrillo. The barber shop sits in the same lot as Carrillo’s upcoming market in the old auction house.

According to Wright, his staff cuts all types of hair and offers services like hair coloring as well. In addition, there is a massage room operated by Massage Story with services like deep tissue and relaxation massage, among others. Wright currently employs three barbers and is looking to add a fourth.

The Wright Cuts will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday while being closed Sunday.
