Bridge work complete

Work was substantially completed last week on a project to replace the bridge on Route 198 over Harpers Creek in Gloucester, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. Both travel lanes on the bridge are now open and temporary signals have been removed. The $1.6 million project included installation of a new bridge deck, guardrail and improvements to bridge approaches. The project contractor was Bryant Contracting, Inc., of Toano. Construction began last August. Final pavement markings will be painted this week. ...
