Bridge washing operations are underway this week in Gloucester, Mathews and Middlesex counties, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Work continues through Friday on a number of locations in the three counties from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. In Gloucester, the bridge washing is taking place at various locations on Route 198 between the Mathews county line and on Route 17 and various locations between Routes 3 and 216.

In Mathews, the work will be done at various bridges on Route 3 between the Mathews and Gloucester county line. And in Middlesex, bridge washing is taking place on Route 3 between the Middlesex and Gloucester county line and on Route 17 between the Middlesex and Lancaster county line.
