Bridge replacement over Burke Mill Stream in the works

Plans are in the works to replace the bridge superstructure above Burke Mill Stream, located on Route 3/14 westbound (John Clayton Memorial Highway), just west of Windsor Road near the Gloucester-Mathews county line.

Although actual work on the project isn’t slated to begin for another three years, the Virginia Department of Transportation has opened the process to receive public input.

A Notice of Willingness to hold a public hearing has been offered to all interested parties. A public hearing will be scheduled by VDOT if it cannot satisfy the community’s concerns.

You may request that a public hearing be held by sending a written request to Mr. Khalili Minhas, P.E., Virginia Department of Transportation, 87 Deacon Road, Fredericksburg, Va. 22405 on or before Tuesday. If requested, a public hearing will most likely be held sometime this fall. The actual date and time of the hearing will be advertised 30 days prior to the meeting.
