A funeral for Brenda Purvis Lamberson, 65, of Hayes, was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Providence Baptist Church, Hayes. She died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013.

She was secretary of Providence Baptist Church, and volunteered with the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and her church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Purvis, and parents, Edward Thomas and Gladys Lowry.

She is survived by her children, Donna Walker, Tiffany Wood, and Thomas Lamberson; sisters, Jackie Vance, Donna Garrett and Norma Cooke; brother, Hank Tyssen, and four grandchildren.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Dr. Richard Croxton. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
