Brenda Carol Donavant, 64, of Gloucester, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016.

Brenda grew up in Gloucester County, graduating from Gloucester High School in 1971. She raised her family in Martinsville, Virginia, after attending Averett College where she met her husband, Michael Donavant.

Brenda loved her family, with a special appreciation for her cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She never uttered a bad word about anyone or anything. She met all difficult challenges with a smile and good humor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Kenneth Donavant; her parents, Herman and Mary Rowe, and sister, Sandra Andersen.

She is survived by her son, Steven Donavant; daughter, Mary Beth Musick (Payton); grandchildren, Justin and Alice; brothers, Walter Rowe (Melinda) and Bill Andersen (Roxanna).

The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 6-7 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be at Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville, at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2016, with the Rev. Nicholas Mammi officiating.
