Brain injury support group now meets monthly in Gloucester

A monthly meetup and support group for brain injury survivors has started up in Gloucester, with the group meeting monthly on Thursday afternoons at Gloucester Public Library, Main Street Center. Community Brain Injury Services, a nonprofit organization that serves individuals from throughout the area that are living with a disability as a result of an acquired brain injury, has started the support group that meets every third Thursday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the library, that is free and open to anyone impacted by brain injury and their loved ones. Light refreshments are provided. The Richmond-based organization also operates a vocational-based clubhouse-model day care program in Newport News, called The Denbigh House, according to Jennifer Zemke, the group’s Director of Programs.
