Bradley begins work as Housing Partnership Executive Director

Kay G. Bradley of Gloucester, has been named Executive Director for the Gloucester Housing Partnership, a newly created position that was made possible thanks to a grant from the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters Foundation, Inc.
Bradley came to Gloucester in 1984 after moving from Kentucky. She said she’s held positions of leadership with other nonprofits such as the United Way, and retired six years ago as Executive Director of the Gloucester-Mathews Care Clinic.

Bradley said she was interested in the position because she’s seen so many senior citizens who can’t afford home repairs and are living in terrible conditions. She said she wants to be part of the change in the community by helping those who cannot help themselves.

GHP board chairman Bob Tschirhart said Bradley’s focus right now will be on organizational growth. This includes developing strategies for community engagement to promote the organization’s mission to the community.

Part of GHP’s growth will continue to work with other organizations in the area. GHP vice chairman Eddie Washington said the benefit of having a strong report with other organizations is to the community. As an example, he said they often run across families that don’t qualify for aid from GHP despite the need. Other nonprofits may be able to assist where they cannot.

Bradley said she is looking forward to being a part of the next chapter for GHP and working to help provide safer homes for those in need.
