Bowditch, Hodges lead GOP candidates in fundraising efforts

Two Republican candidates for the 98th District House of Representatives seat have each raised over $50,000 so far in campaign contributions, according to campaign finance records on file in the Gloucester County Registrar’s office.

Gloucester resident Sherwood Bowditch’s campaign has accumulated the most contributions, followed by the campaign of Urbanna resident Keith Hodges.

Bowditch has raised $72,498.67. So far, he has only spent $19,942.29, leaving a balance of $52,556.38.

One of his top contributors is Del. Harvey Morgan, who announced he will not be seeking reelection to the 98th district seat, a position he has held for over 30 years. According to the report, Morgan has contributed $5,000 to the Bowditch campaign. Bowditch served as Morgan’s legislative aide in the 2000 General Assembly session.
