Booth applications available for Mathews Market Days

Applications for booths at this year’s Mathews Market Days are now available on various platforms, including the Mathews Market Days website. Paper copies are available at the Mathews County Administration offices on Brickbat Road.

The festival will be held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 8 and 9, on and around the Mathews Court Green.

Arts and crafts and food vendors, along with agencies and organizations that seek to share information with the public, have until July 1 to submit their applications, after which a $25 late fee will apply.

For arts and crafts vendors, only work that has been handmade by the artist will be accepted, and jewelry using beads handmade by the artist will take precedence over that using prefabricated beads. The work of only one artist may displayed in each assigned space.

Information booths may be used for commercial or information purposes only. They may not sell any type of goods. Raffles and drawings are approved, but product sales that benefit the organization will need committee approval.

The cost for a 10’ x 10’ arts and crafts booth is $100 for the two-day event, while a 10’ x 10’ information booth will be $65. No electricity will be available.

Food vendors must pay both the entry fee plus 10 percent of their gross sales, with the latter due by Sept. 30. The cost for a 15’ x 15’ space is $55. An electric fee of $20 will be charged of those using an electrical hookup; 30 amp service is available.

All booths must be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the festival.
