Bookbinding class offered at Arts on Main

Dr. Charlie Lee-Potter, artist-in-residence at Arts on Main in Gloucester, is offering a free class on bookbinding from 1–5 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, at the Main Street gallery.

Participants will learn how to fold, stitch and decorate their own handmade notebook with Lee-Potter, who is both an artist and a writer.

As they learn the art of bookbinding, she will encourage them to think about their own creative practice, asking themselves what they might fill their pages with and whether making their own book might have an effect on their creative writing or artwork.

The class is for students 16 and over, and adults are encouraged to attend. Class size is limited. To reserve a spot and request a list of materials, call Arts on Main at 804-824-9464. ...
