Internationally acclaimed author Shawn Cosby of Gloucester, seated, signed copies of his recently published book “Razorblade Tears” and his bestseller “Blacktop Wasteland” during an event held in his honor on Tuesday, Dec. 21 in the Thomas James Store at the Mathews County Visitor Center. The Mathews native took the time to chat with the visitors who were lined up to get their copies of his book signed, making sure they knew that he and appreciated all the support he had received from his hometown. MCVIC Executive Director Emily Allen said that 45 minutes into the book signing, at least 100 people had already been through, and there was still a line of people waiting their turn. Shown here with Cosby, in photo at left, are his niece, Shanice Williams of Portsmouth, and her son, Kiyan Solomon. At right, Kathryn Tatterson has several books signed as others wait patiently in line.
