Members of the Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc., responded to a call for a boater emergency on Sunday at Beaverdam Reservoir. GVFRS responded with two boats and 12 personnel. Upon arriving, they found one small boat capsized and another beached on the rocks, taking on water. First responders assisted with securing the capsized boat and, once removing the water, towed the other vessel back to the dock, according to Captain and EMS Training Officer Lewis Kerns.
