The Mathews County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a boat from a home in the 8400 block of Buckley Hall Road at Hudgins. The theft occurred between 12:30 and 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 3.

Surveillance video shows that a suspect drove a white Ford pick-up truck onto the property, hooked up the trailer, and drove away. Witnesses observed a white female in the vehicle. It has been determined that the suspect’s vehicle traveled on Rt. 14 to Gloucester, down Rt. 17, and across the Coleman Bridge, said a press release from the sheriff’s office.

The boat is a 1998 C Hawk, center console boat, white and teal in color, with a 225 Johnson outboard on a trailer. The hull number is VA 877CB, and the Virginia tag on the trailer is 687965 TL.
