Blues trio to perform at Flat Iron Crossroads

The acoustic blues trio M.S.G. will perform at 6 p.m. Friday at Flat Iron Crossroads, 7709 Flat Iron Road, Gloucester.Rooted in the Piedmont style and spiritual tradition, the group received a first round 2017 Grammy nomination for its CD “The Flood” and was nominated for VEER Magazine’s Best Blues CD and Band of the Year, said a press release.

The concert will be outside, with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. AR Smokehouse food truck will serve such wood-fire specialties as pork BBQ and ribs, along with homemade sides. Beer, wine, seasonal beverages, soft drinks, and water will be available for purchase, as well.

Next week

There will be two concerts next weekend, one by American blues guitarist Roy Book Binder at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 7, and one by the Rock-n-Roll group Dee Oh Gee at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 8. The Saturday show will be a fundraiser for the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society.
