Blue Devils own 4-3 record

After beginning the season with losses to Northumberland and Rappahannock, and a victory over Lancaster, the Mathews Blue Devils basketball team suffered a loss to Lancaster last Thursday, their second meeting this season, falling 53-48.

 

Though suffering a shortage of points, Mathews was led in scoring by Deondre Foster (21), Chris Perreault (10) and Cody Kelly (9).

 

Looking to rebound from a 1-3 start to the season, the Blue Devils traveled to Northumberland the following night to face the Indians, to whom they had lost earlier in the season. The Devils led for nearly the entire game, and strolled their way to a comfortable seven-point victory. Johnson held their own with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

 

The weekend break provided rest for the Blue Devils, as they went right back to work on Monday...
