One more win, and they’re in.
Following Monday night’s 81-69 Region 1A quarterfinal win over West Point, the Mathews High School boys’ basketball team is just one win away from earning a berth in the VHSL state tournament.
The Blue Devils were scheduled to host the Lancaster Red Devils on Wednesday, with a 6 p.m. tipoff. If they win that game, the Blue Devils will advance to Saturday’s regional championship. Mathews would either host that game (if Northampton wins) or travel to Colonial Beach if the top-seeded Drifters win their regional semifinal game.
